Stream Geomorphic Assessments

Since 2003, the Conservation District has been supporting geomorphic assessments of rivers and streams in Caledonia County.  Stream Geomorphic Assessments, or SGAs, were developed by the VT Agency of Natural Resources in order to resolve or avoid conflicts between river systems and human investments by understanding the natural process and reponses to stressors that rivers undergo.  SGAs help provide a scientifically sound tool used in watershed planning to help better understand erosion, habitats, flooding and other concerns associated with rivers.
