USDA Conservation Programs - Vermont Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)

Learn more about available program and sign-up dates for NRCS programs such as the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA), Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) and others. 

Farm Agronomic Practice (FAP) Program

Incentive Program supporting cover cropping, reduced tillage, aeration tillage and other practices.

Conservation Districts Conservation Tillage Incentive Program

Working with the FAP program, this program is coordinated by the Caledonia, Winooski and White River Districts to support reduced tillage practices on high priority fields.  Farmers with qualifying fields may be eligible for additional incentives on top of the existing payments from FAP.  Call 802-748-3885 x110 for more information.

Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP)

CREP is an enhanced version of the federal Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), which are both tools that compensate landowners for agricultural land near streams that is converted into vegetated stream buffers.  Vegetated buffers protect streams from non-point source pollution and improve water quality.  Click here for more information.
